SALT LAKE CITY —A former sexual enhancement pill and medication in Toronto has been seized by the federal government for possession of counterfeit pills and medicines, including a drug known as Viagra.
A seizure of a prescription drug called sildenafil was found in a warehouse in the western end of the city on Wednesday, the Food and Drug Administration said in a statement.
The drug, sold under the brand name Revatio, was found to contain sildenafil and a variety of other ingredients, including the prescription drug Viagra. The pills were also found to contain the substance tadalafil.
The FDA said the drug was in possession of a male enhancement practitioner, who was not licensed to sell it, and had written prescriptions for it and had obtained the drugs from his patients. He was not charged with possession.
The F. D. A. has so far refused to investigate, but the government has been asked to provide details of the seizure.
Sildenafil, the active ingredient in Viagra, has been found to contain the active ingredient tadalafil, which was found in a shipment in Toronto that was shipped to the Toronto area from India.

Men in the UK will be able to buy Viagra over the counter after consulting with a pharmacist and without a prescription for the first time today.
ViagraConnect manufacturer, Pfizer, estimates more than a fifth of men aged over 18 in Britain suffer from erectile dysfunction, but almost half of those over 40 have not sought medical help.
